4.4 Health & Safety

staying safe is very important in every environment and as a result i have created a top 10 list on staying safe in a digital and physical art environment.

1.do not use chairs incorrectly for example chair jousting, leaning back on the chairs and rolling around the room on them

2.do not unplug or mess about with the wires or plugs for the computers as this can lead to the computers breaking or you receiving an electric shock

3.do not consume food or drink other than bottled water around the computer as this can lead to spillages or damages to the computer

4.do not eat near art supplies or while using the art supplies as some things such as metal or plastic paints are extremely toxic and consuming even a small quantity of these can have adverse effects on you health, you should also always wash your hands after handling art supplies for the same reason

5.take extra care when using scalpels and sharp scissors as misuse of these can lead to minor and severe injury.

6.when using the computers be cautions when downloading things from previously unused or unknown websites as you can contract malware which can destroy your computer or steal you private information

7.when using glue or other solvent be sure to do so in a well ventilated room as inhaling fumes from these can make you feel dizzy and unwell.

8.be cautious if you see or suspect that you see a fire, in such a situation you should attempt to tackle the blaze if it safe to do so or if the fire is very small or contained, when this is not the case you should pull the nearest fire alarm or if you cannot find one inform the nearest member of staff and then proceed to the fire assembly point

9.when using the computers in college be sure to only speak to people that you know if you should be doing so, and never reveal any private  or confidential to anyone online.

10.if you see anything that looks out of place or strange be it on the computer or around college report it to a teacher as soon as possible.
